We've all been there. Browsing items for sale and suddenly that one in a million item pops up. But you're in no position to do anything about it...
I was just about ready to go for breakfast whilst on holiday in Las Vegas. The Mrs was taking her time doing her make-up so I thought I'd browse through marketplace to see if there was anything new. '1 New Listing' had apparently been added since i last looked. The main picture of this ad was a red carrier bag so i wasn't expecting much. However, as i scanned through the photos I was quickly realising that i NEEDED this lot. Inside the bag were 32 subbuteo teams and whilst i could only see the top 4, 2 of them were Algeria and New York Cosmos.
I messaged and asked if he would hold them for me until i got home in 2 days time but he wanted cash only and it was first come, first served. After about half an hour of trying, I managed to get hold of a friend who very kindly went to get them for me. When i eventually managed to get my hands on the bag a few days later i couldn't believe my eyes. Southampton 2nd, Bodo Glimt, Leeds 2nd, Tampa Bay Rowdies. The list went on. I estimated £1600 worth of teams. Not bad for a £50 outlay!
